Advisory is a fully youth-led charity dedicated to empowering young people from all walks of life to make informed career and further education choices. By breaking down the barriers that young people face in finding out about their occupations and industries of interest, we create a level playing field and support youth to pursue their aspirations and find meaningful employment.

Our Pillars of Engagement

Articles

The Content Division forms the foundation of Advisory’s work. Advisory started out as an online content repository, telling the stories of working professionals, bringing their passion for and knowledge of their professions to youth all over Singapore. We publish Conversations and Reflections articles – interviews with working professionals, and Insights articles – which cover the best insights from our public programmes.

Public Programmes

Advisory hosts various events on a regular cadence, open to the public at no cost. While most of our events are still virtual, we have since started hosting some in-person events when possible. Our two regular event series are:

Discovery+ Series: Monthly virtual industry panels, sponsored by Workforce Singapore, which gives students the chance to hear from working professionals and learn more about the careers they aspire to enter.
Experience+ Series: Virtual learning journeys and industry visits, which give students the chance to virtually visit workplaces, speak directly with working professionals, and learn more about the organisations they aspire to join.

The Advisory Mentorship Programme

Over the past four years, our mentorship program has connected 2,600+ mentors with 3,500+ mentees, providing 14,000+ hours of guidance, with support from 27 renowned partners. The programme pairs students with working professionals in their fields of interest on a 1-1 basis, and over the course of four months, mentors give an hour each month to meet with their assigned mentee.

The Advisory Schools Partnership

Under this partnership, Advisory provides Education and Career Guidance (ECG) support to the students and staff of various schools through programming such our Discover@ industry panels. We currently work with xxx schools, spanning across secondary schools, polytechnics, ITEs, and junior colleges. Join us if your school would like to collaborate!

Our Communities

Advisory Professionals Network (ProNet)

Our ProNet community consists of professionals who believe in Advisory’s mission of empowering students to make informed career choices, and volunteer their time on a regular basis as speakers, mentors, coaches, and interviewees. ProNet members will have the opportunity to attend engagements meetings that bring the community together and add value to the members. Join us if you are a working professional that believes in our cause!

Educators Roundtable (EduR)

A biannual meeting of educators, that serves as a platform for Advisory to support educators, schools, staff, teachers, and ECG counsellors as they undertake ECG efforts where they are emplaced. Our EduR meetings allow educators the opportunity to engage with other firms, industry, and students, while gaining insight into ECG best practices, and contemporary trends that are pertinent for students.
